In 2024, 78.2% of people in the EU aged 16-74 with severe disability used the internet regularly (having used the internet at least once a week during the previous 3 months). Among those with moderate disability the share was 86% and it was 93.5% for those without disability.
Looking at different age groups, there were substantial differences in regular internet use, with a notably lower proportion of internet users among people aged 55 to 74 years than among younger people, regardless of their disability status.
In 2024, 87.4% of people in the EU aged 16 to 24 years with severe disability used the internet on a regular basis, compared with 98.1% for people of the same age with moderate disability and 98.7% for people of the same age with no disability.
Among those aged 55 to 74 years, 70.8% of people with severe disability regularly used the internet compared with 78.2% for people of the same age who had moderate disability, while 84.3% of people without a disability were regular internet users.
